TOAST Announces Grand Opening in May 2007.
This Montclair Restaurant fills local void by serving up breakfast, lunch, and
brunch classics with a twist.
TOAST is proud to announce its grand opening, providing Montclair-area diners
with a new destignation for quality food in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Owner Amy Russo Harrigan greets customers with her big, infectious smile, and
instantly makes them feel right at home in the beautiful space she’s created at
TOAST. A hardworking mother of three and native Jersey girl from a big family,
Russo has a special brand of earthiness, great taste and unpretentious class and
TOAST reflects that spirit. “I wanted TOAST to feel open and airy and for it to
be a place where both families and business people could come, have a great meal
and feel relaxed. Sort of like a neighborhood “Cheers” vibe for the daytime
crowd.” With doors that open onto the street, rustic woodwork and
ultra-comfortable brown leather banquettes. Russo has done just that.
But it’s the outstanding food that will be sure to have people coming back
for more.
Russo has created a varied, exciting menu that puts a new twist on some old
favorites. Eggs benedict gets a make-over with crab cake and a perfectly
balanced hollandaise sauce. French toast made with egg bread is stuffed with
delicately sweetened cream cheese and topped with sliced strawberries. For lunch
there’s a classic lobster roll tossed lightly in a lemon-mayo dressing and
nestled in a split top bun that saves you the 7-hour drive to Maine, and an
authentic Philly cheese steak that will have purists and homesick Maine Liners
returing for a fix. A traditional Cobb salad is elevated by the addition of
succulent lobster meat and TOAST’S signature Dijon vinaigrette. And the cripsy,
perfectly seasoned shoestring sweet potato fries that accompany many dishes are
already making Toast a destination on their own. Along with manager and
operating partner, Juan C. Valdez, Russo has big plans for TOAST. “We’re looking
forward to having theme nights like clambakes in the evenings to create an
experience locally that will make people feel like they’ve gotten away for
awhile. With great food and people, there’s no limit to what we can do.” TOAST
is also available for private parties and events.
TOAST is located at 700 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair and is open seven days,
from 7:30am until 3pm Monday through Friday, and 7:30 until 4pm Saturdays and
Sundays.
