Fine Dining Calls Home Ristorante Divina

Mario Carlino, owner and chef of Ristorante Divina in Caldwell, learned to
cook beside his Mom as a youngster. He also attended Salerno Culinary Institute
near Naples, Italy and has been in the restaurant business for 25 years.
Combining all of the above, your Ristorante Divina dining experience promises to
be extraordinary.
"I love what I do," says Carlino. "I love to do each dish - create them. All my
dishes are done with passion. I also love to deal with people, taking care of
each customer one by one. It gives me lots of satisfaction."
Diners will love the soft lighting encased inside Marano Glass from
Venice, artwork focusing on the beauty of Amalfi and Venice, and the overall
warm atmosphere and food ("Everything is received hot to the table," says
Carlino).
Consider the menu. Fried Calamari and Shrimp with white wine, hot pepper and
garlic are excellent antipasti offerings, and the Seafood Salad is second to
none. From the Pasta menu, all meals are cooked fresh, al dente, as Lasagna
Bolognese and Pappardello with Fresh Porcini Mushrooms head a strong list. Other
highlights from a menu of vast variety are Chicken with Wild Mushrooms, Zuppa Di
Pesce
Marechiara, and Chicken Arrabiata. If lobster is your desire, call in advance to
ensure availability.
What about dessert, you ask? Two words: save room. Ristorante Divina is home to
homemade desserts, including The Best Cream Cheesecake, Cannoli with fresh
ricotta, Pistachio Cake served with custard cream, and homemade Biscotti for
Two, both Chocolate Chip and Traditional. An affordable lunch is served Tuesday
thru Friday, 11:30 AM till 2:00 PM, featuring sandwiches, pasta, chicken, veal
and fish.
"My key to success," claims Mario Carlino, "is staying on top of each dish, six
days per week, and to never give up."
