Magnetic Therapy
Written by Anthony Pezzino
Magnetic Therapy is mentioned in some of the earliest writings in Egypt, India,
Greece, and has occupied a central role in Chinese medicine for over 2000 years.
Studies show that by applying magnetic fields to an injured area, it improves
blood flow and oxygen to enhance the body’s natural healing process and helps to
reduce pain and inflammation.
A magnet will work where it is placed. A wristband or sufficiently strong
bracelet is fine if you have hand or wrist pain, or if you want to maximize your
general health and detox your body. But there is little point in relaxing and
promoting blood flow to your wrist, if the problem is elsewhere on your body.
Wearing a magnet anywhere on the body though, will still have the same
detoxifying effect on the blood after a period of time. When using magnetic
therapy you need to drink 4-5 glasses of water a day to flush out of your system
the toxins the magnets are releasing.
If your general health is good, a magnetic bracelet is the simplest most
effective way of compensating for man-made EMF (electro-magnetic field)
pollutants that deplete our systems. It will help to boost and support the
body’s own bio-energy system.
Key Points
Gauss Rating - The gauss of a magnet determines its strength. There is a gauss
at the center (core) of the magnet and one at the surface.
Neodymium - King of magnets, these magnets are made up to three metals, boron,
ferrite, neodymium. Neodymium is a rare earth metal and expensive. The quantity
in the manufacture will be directly reflected in the power output the magnet
will have.
Core Rating - 12,300 - Surface gauss 1,200. The magnet will have an impact of
3-4 inches on the skin both in radius and in depth penetration. They are called
‘permanent’ magnets and will hold their fields for up to 15 years. These magnets
should be used for most soft-tissue damage, as they are the most likely to get
the best results in areas as back, knee, hips, shoulders etc. If packaging
doesn’t tell the strength (gauss, surface, core) don’t buy it.
Flexible magnet - Less expensive (2,750 gauss core). This will have an impact on
tissue between 1-2 inches. They are used for fingers, thumbs, and wrist where
less penetration is required. A flexible magnet holds its field for about 5-
years.
Ceramic - Magnets are generally found in pillow pads and sleep systems (gauss
-3,950). They promote relaxation when you sleep. They also kick in the pineal
gland.
Magnetic Energy - North Pole
For Healing, most magnetic products are used north pole towards the body.
South Pole - Stimulates.
